A Process Heater is similar to a Line Heater, as it has three components, the firebox, shell and flow coil.
A Process Heater is designed to heat gas or oil flowing through the flow coil and therefore lacks a choke. Some Process Line Heaters have two independent sets of coils, and are usually custom builds.
Process Heaters range in size from 250,000 BTU Hr. which is 24” O.D. x 7’6” Length, to 2,000,000 BTU Hr. which is 60” O.D. x 20’ Length. The working pressure of the coils is usually 1440.
Tejas Production Services can custom fabricate Process Heaters.
